Sims 3 special: Building Lots in Empty Lots in Built Custom Made Worlds

I was checking the Internet lately for the Sims 3 for a new story idea. I won't spoil any surprises but, the story is that 4 different persons from an old doll line, a Canadian cartoon show that spoofs Survivor and other reality shows, a well-known Filipino piece of literature made by Jose Rizal (also a Thomasian though for four years in med school) and real history (#alternative_universe; well, one of them is dead, no joke!) are made into each other's roommates in a converted house turned apartment complex in a TS3 world & this story basically follows their lives and the people around.

Now I went on a custom world shopping online and found some worlds that could help out in the story line, but some of them were in need of store content, some needed some eps and stuff packs I know that I didn't need to get, some have custom content (I had some bad experience before in the Sims 2 in a vain attempt to do an Asylum Challenge & that CC's made the game harder than I thought it would be), while others were all of the above. But fear not, there are also worlds that wouldn't need that much stuff. I found some & one was Storybrook County (no, not that Storybrook from Once Upon a Time!) from My Sim Realty (another one was Anne Arbor, also from the same website). I was concerned about downloading some lots that may need some stuff from the things that I mentioned, but I did went to ask the person in charge in the website's official Facebook page and the conversation went like this:

Me: Hi. I would like to ask if it is okay that I can make my own lots on the blank lots in Storybrook County Version 3? I don't have any of the things that require store content or even Into the Fututre since I'm not interested in getting it so far?
Any advise will do.

My Sim Reality:
Of course - do you mean build in the blank version?

Me: No, I mean the left-out blanks in any updated versions of Storybrook. Which may need certain eps and store stuff to make certain 'new' lots to work properly. I don't have Into the Future and some store stuff, because I'm just wondering if I can make my own lots in the blank lot.

My Sim Realty: Like within the built world you are wondering if you can build on the empty lots?

Me:
Yes. That's what I'm asking about.

My Sim Realty: Oh of course!! You can change it anyway you see fit!!

Me: Okay thanks. I was actually thinking of making a story series in the Sims 3 that involves 4 strangers in an EA or custom world living in one space (e.g. apartment).

I didn't want to hurt this person's feelings should I download this world & some lots that can be compatible with what I have and then start changing the blank lots myself. But it turns out, she doesn't mind: she's fine with it if a person downloads a world then spruce it up a bit to what they see fit. In fact, there are some versions of this world that you can get if ever you don't have the enough stuff to get the latest version of it.

I hope this article will help you out in making the right decisions in getting the custom world/s you want to get, apparently, most of them are a lot better than some of the store worlds provided by EA, tee hee hee...

Sorry for the Hiatus!

Hey guys. No time no blogging.

The reason why I didn't blog for almost a month is that I had my finals last month and it was the most nerve-wrecking exams I had so far. But the efforts weren't futile, I passed with high grades (Computer is the lowest since I can't comprehend advance computer stuff, my grade for Philippine Literature in English was the same as the one I got for Philippine Literature in 1st year, both of the 2 latter subjects were handled by the same prof.) and still Dean's List potential which I wasn't planning on doing since 3 years ago.

Anyway, for the people have read my Scooby Doo and Power Rangers crossover story, I apologized for not updating it yet, but I'm on it. Someone had bugged me in a private message on FanFiction.Net on a lot of questions for the series. I might as well expand the the explanation why time stops whenever someone goes a time travel adventure, a la Narnia style. After finishing the story, I'm taking a break from the series before doing the sequel which sets in the winter snowboarding competition in New England USA, the time of release will probably depend on when school starts for me (ASEAN just ruined my birthday in advance with the economical integration by next year, and my school UST went crazy-prepared by setting school opening by July 14, just 7 days before my birthday, meaning I'll start school during what was supposed to the rainy season in my country).

In the meantime, just hang in there for more posts to come.
